  • Club de Campo Villa de Madrid (ESP)

    +

The Country Club Villa Madrid was officially inaugurated in 1931. In 1942, the Country Club merged with the Royal Spanish Equestrian Society and formed the new Royal Spanish Equestrian Country Club. The construction of the new facilities began as well as the promotion of the equestrian, tennis, golf and swimming plans. Since then, the Country Club started developing and growing their headquarters as well as their members.  The Villa Madrid Country Club is in particular splendid because it situated just minutes away from downtown Madrid. With the 200 acres, it has become " the lungs" of the Spanish capital. The Country Club facilities are the perfect destination for International and European Championships where thousands of people come together to watch their favorite teams.

Hockey in the Villa Madrid Country Club

The Hockey field has been a great platform for the Country Club because it's many sports accomplishments, National Leagues, the King and Queen Cup,and European tournament. Is the only sports team that has only used the Country Club as their main base, and where International Championships have taken place such as the European Championships, Pre Olympic tournaments, Female World Championship, as well as many other World wide championships. In the 2016 Rio Championship, the Country Club 7 athletes were chosen to represent the Male and Female National teams.

Administration of the College (Headmaster - V.V.Starovoit) did everything possible so that this interesting game received recognition and development. Arena, stadium, playground, sticks for Russian hockey (bandy) that were found in the attic of a warehouse and perfectly useful in the training process were provided for the development of this sport.
